Eating with Elsie

While the first picture illustrates Elsie eating the old fashioned way with Dad--notice her holding David's pinky finger, the next three represent her first adventure with solid food--a decidely less peaceful and more messy endeavor.

Elsie Weighs In

At her four month check up, Elsie weighed in at a whopping 15 pounds and was 25 inches long! After residing in the 12th percentile at her two month visit, she is now in the 79th percentile for height and weight. She's a big girl now!

Elsie has always loved her playmat--a gift from Aunt Barbara and Uncle Mike; however, we also learned she loves to play on her mat with her cousin Bryce.

Godparents

David and I are honored to serve as Bryce's godparents. Meredith, David's sister, and Johnny, Beth's brother, are Elsie's godparents. Let's hope both children survive their godparents!

The Christian Cousins!

On January 14, 2007, Elsie and Bryce were baptised at the church where David and I were married, my mother's church, Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta. Alabama family and Atlanta friends and family were all in attendance. The babies behaved surprisingly well. We cannot say the same for the family and friends!

Elsie Jump Up!

Elsie has a new favorite toy--her "Johnny Jump Up" aka the Bungee Baby Bouncer. We have been impressed not only with her jumping but also with her walking, dancing, and getting down to groove. Actually, David thinks she may have a future in sumo wrestling...

Meet Elaine!

Elsie has a new friend. Her nanny, Elaine, comes to play with her while her dad and mom are working. They enjoy playing "tookey, tookey," doing Jane Fonda exercises, and watching The Young and the Restless. Elaine also dresses Elsie and makes sure she looks "sexy" every day.

Willie

Little did we know that this would be our last photo of Willie Foo.... The morning after this was taken, Willie had to be put to sleep because of a tumor in his colon and spots on his lungs. We miss him and his brother Buster--they were fourteen years old and had been with us for ten of those. Elsie will enjoy hearing stories of the brothers Foo in future years.

Elsie is growing fast--her belly is hanging over her tiny jeans and her legs are straining the footies in her pajamas. Here is one of her last days in her cow outfit--a favorite from the Connors in North Carolina.

Christmas in Alabama

This year, we were able to spend Christmas in Alabama with David's family. Elsie got to see all of her grandparents on that side--Ann and Roy as well as David and Sharon. She even got to meet great grandparents--Meme and the Bushes. She also met her aunts and uncles--Benji and Jamie, Tait, godmother Meredith, and little Yanna. Roy's sister's family--the Hollingers--gave her a warm welcome to Alabama as well. Elsie loves Minter, AL!

Christmas in Alabama: Pop Roy builds Elsie a house!

Elsie seems to have a special relationship with her Pop Roy. In fact, he is building her a playhouse behind his house. We know Elsie will love visiting her grandparents and escaping from her shockingly nutty family to her own digs.
