When Jim Walker came to town, Tequila E came out--if you look closely at sleeping Elsie, you'll see what I mean. We know Jim will be a fantastic role model for little Elsie, just as he has been a good influence on her dad.

The Godfather, Part I















In October, Uncle Johnny, the Godfather, and Aunt Kate came down from Boston to visit Elsie! She loved the visit and did not learn too many bad habits from her godfather.

Baby Power!

A number of you have asked about nicknames with our penchant for nicknaming our pets in mind. Elsie has a number of nicknames. When she strikes the fist-raised pose, we call her "Baby Power." When she is in her jeans, we call her "Tiny Jeans." We move from the literal to the ridiculous and call her "Jellybean," "Nugget," "Baby Elvis," and our favorite, "Baby Chief," a long super silly story. Elsie's Fashion Show
One of the joys of having a daughter, or a baby, for that matter, is all of the ridiculous outfits you can dress them in. We have delighted ourselves for hours with our doll baby. Here you can see Elsie in her "Golden Girls" pastel yellow stroller suit--thanks to Carolyn and Seth--David sings "Thank you for being a friend..." the Golden Girls theme song whenever she wears it. And we have a number of Elsie in our favorite outfit--her "tiny jeans" we call them, thanks to Corey and Jamie. We look forward to her growing into her many other wonderful outfits so we can continue to torture her with a fashion parade!

Uncle Tait Makes a Visit!

Elsie was fortunate to have another uncle come for a visit in October. Tait came for a few nights and recognized Elsie's musical genius immediately.

Spa Baby!
Yes, here are some photos of Elsie's first bath. We call her Spa Baby or Rocky when she is all toweled up.

Gran Ann and Pop Roy come to visit!


Elsie was delighted to meet her grandparents from Alabama! Oscar supervised the visit--as you'll see in the second picture.

Elsie wowed us all with her beauty and brains--all in such a small package.

Oscar and Elsie. Just about everyone has asked how the pets are coping with the new addition. The kitties don't seem to know what has happened, but Oscar is fascinated, curious, and sometimes alarmed. He does not like crying--it makes him pace. He is desperate to lick Elsie head to toe. He is always underfoot when we are holding her. And he could not understand the bili bed (biliruben blue light bed). Rocky was perplexed by it as well.

Cousin Bryce comes first! My sister Barbara and her husband Mike welcomed Bryce Winston Boukater on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 9:24 am. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 20 1/2 inches long.





My parents felt doubly blessed to become grandparents for the first time twice within the same week. Elsie was born a mere six days later!

Baby Elsie has arrived! David and I are thrilled to announce the birth of Elizabeth Locksley Thompson. She arrived Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 4:41 pm weighing in at 5 lbs., 15 ounces, and coming in at 18 3/4 in. long.
