Just as I turned my head for a moment, with a jar of Boudreaux's Butt Paste barely in reach, and here she is.... ready for infomercials and advertising....  A snow day, with possibilities of cozy times by the fire, has a decidedly different tenor when toddlers are involved.....

So Santa has many magical qualities but may lack foresight.  Therefore, one of his gifts necessitated immediate gratification in ways not as immediately anticipated by participating parents and grandparents.  A snowy Christmas day meant post-nap finger painting.  We noticed that while Elsie demonstrated restraint and precision in gingerbread housing, Kit exacted attention to detail when painting digitally.... we attempted to better anticipate future realities and personality idiosyncrasies to no great effect.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

 

We enjoyed a week of fun in Atlanta before Daddy was able to return for a brief visit.  We prepared for holiday meals and went to visit Santa.  We visited with Deavours and Julie and the aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Mommy went out with some high school friends, and thanks to Addie, she even hit a movie with Grammy.  Then just in time for a fabulous gumbo feast at Addie's on the 23rd, Daddy came for dinner and cookie-making, for a playdate at Duncan's and even Kit's new favorite flick--Toy Story 3!

Anticipation

 

So after David's departure and naps by various constituencies, the cousins and aunts and uncles arrived for a pre-Christmas surf and turf feast.  Since they were departing Christmas weekend for in laws, we met the Sunday prior to swap gifts.  The cousins were thrilled, delighted, enamored, with the gifts and each other.  A mush-faced dog or two as well as delicious fare and tasty wine made things just about as festive as they could be!
