The Girls of Summer
We were thrilled to have Jenn, Chris, Alice, and Claire join us for the 2nd annual HHI Beach Week. Elsie adored playing with "Awlice."She still talks about her. Smiley Claire seemed to have a very special relationship with Oscar! And as always, David and I managed to laugh and laugh with Jenn and Chris through the joys and agonies of parenting!

Yard Work

HHI Headwear

On the last day of May, we headed over to Hilton Head for our two week family vacation. We managed to arrange our days around the beach, biking, napping, and the Salty Dog--named the "Soggy Ball" by Elsie--we are not sure why. Here you will see a collage of the various headwear required for these adventures. Elsie especially loves her helmet--she talks about riding bikes and helmets a lot. Even now that she is home in Savannah, the fond memory of bike riding inspires a random outburst of "helmet" and a deep sigh...
Bluffton

So Memorial Day weekend meant House Party! We headed over to the Belzers' river house for weekend fun. After a Friday night Mexican fiesta, we enjoyed a full day Saturday of boating, swimming, sandbarring, Mojitos, and Nathan's excellent etouffee. Allison, Nathan, Cecelia, and Lillian were gracious hosts--Elsie loved the big girls! Saturday, the Martins (baby Yates is pictured here), the Strains, and the Kirks arrived and things really got rolling. It was so much fun, we had no time for pictures. Here are just a few...
Play Date

So way back in May--back when we used to blog regularly, before our camera/computer hook-up messed up, Elsie invited Camille and Hart over for a playdate to usher in summer. I know that we have lots to blog about since then, but this is just to "wet" your appetite...
Go Dog Go

Don't you just love that dog party picture in Go Dog Go? The one in the tree? With presents and cake and badminton? Elsie does too! And Oscar curls up wishing he was there...

Kissing Cousins and Palate Cleansers!

Share

The cousins worked on their sharing skills in Atlanta this past weekend: sharing guacamole at La Paz Friday night, sharing toys at 665, sharing a visit to the Aquarium, sharing watermelon sorbet palate cleansers, and sharing kisses. Beth and David worked on sharing time at various Atlanta playgrounds, sharing family time at the Dekalb Farmer's Market (among other places), sharing a delightful evening with Jim and Suzanne, and sharing in a collaborative culinary effort to make good on our Farmer's Market treats for a family feast Sunday night. Yummy, yummy, as Elsie would say!
