Big City Baby, Part I

Back in the old days, Spring Breaks involved staying up for late night activity, sleeping in, drinking too much beer, and trying to do as little as possible during the day. Last week, we enjoyed a new age spring break: waking before 7 for some Wiggles action, eating too many animal crackers, and attending every kid-friendly venue in the greater Atlanta area.

We did the Georgia Aquarium twice, Zoo Atlanta once, the Botanical Gardens, and every park in a 10 mile radius from 665 Edinboro. There were also some fun playdates with Maisie and Duncan, Suzie and Randy, Lolly and Aunt Addie, of course. Elsie can now declare herself a big city baby.

As exciting as these attractions were, 665 was also quite a zoo: there was quite a menagerie, including Abby, Tug, Rocky, Oscar, Poppa, Johnny, Kiki (Kate), and Gammy (Grammy). And then Byce (Bryce), Bawbwa (Barbara), Mike, and Addie came to visit. Now, that we are home, Elsie has learned the inflection of the interrogative. She'll turn to us intermittantly and ask: "Poppa?" "Johnny?" "Gammy?" "Kiki?" "Byce?" "Addie?"

And we'll answer... "They are not here now, Elsie. We'll see them soon." Real soon....
